‣ Püsialusega arvusüsteem, mis kasutab kuutteist numbrit 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, A, B, C, D, E, F, kusjuures märgid A, B, C, D, E, F vastavad arvudele 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, ja alust kuusteist ning mille vähim täisarvuline kaal on 1.
Näide:
▫ Kuueteistkümnendsüsteemis esitab arvu tuhat numeraal 3E8, s.t. 3 x 16² + 14 x 16¹ + 8 x 16⁰ .

‣ The fixed radix numeration system that uses the sixteen digits 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, A, B, C, D, E and F, where the characters A, B, C, D, E and F correspond to the numbers 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15, and the radix sixteen and in which the lowest integral weight is 1.
Näide:
▫ In the hexadecimal numeration system, the numeral 3E8 represents the number one thousand, that is 3 x 16² + 14 x 16¹ + 8 x 16⁰ .
